The mental battle, No. 1: It’s very easy to get caught up in the frenzy of technique, super plotting, researching, industry buzz, promotion, online sites, and so many other things, that sometimes we forget the bottom line is the basic writing. First and foremost you are a writer. The most important thing you can do to develop your ability is to write.
